1 kg of potatoes
600 g minced meat
4 to 5 large onions
150 g butter
2 tbsp of chopped parsley
2 tbsp of chopped garlic
100 g fresh peas
20 cl of milk
100 g gruyère cheese
Preheat the oven to 200 ° C.
Peel the onions, slice them and brown them in a pan with 25 gram of butter.
Remove them and put aside. Put in the same pan the minced meat and cook for 5 to 6 minutes.
Cook the peas briefly and let drain.
Add the onions, the parsley, garlic, salt and pepper and peas and stir. Put aside.
Peel the potatoes, cut them into pieces and cook them in boiling water for 20 minutes. Drain and mash them.
Add the milk, 125 g of butter and a little grated nutmeg. Put aside.
To finish: In a buttered baking dish, start with a layer of minced meat then add the mashed potatoes.
Sprinkle some grated gruyère on top and put in the oven for about 25 minutes. Then brown on the grill for 5 minutes.
